TAILIEUCHUNG - PC Magazine 2008

The first issue of the magazine, dated February-March 1982, appeared as PC and described itself as "The Independent Guide to IBM Personal Computers".[1] (The word Magazine was not added to the logo until the first major redesign in January 1986). PC Magazine was created by David Bunnell, Eddie Currie and Tony Gold, a co-founder of Lifeboat Associates who financed the magazine. The magazine grew beyond the capital required to publish it, and to solve this problem, Gold sold the magazine to Ziff-Davis who moved it[clarification needed] to New York City, New York. Bunnell and his staff left to form PC. | THE GREEN ISSUE PC Labs Tests Green PCs Dvorak Turn Off Those Lights Ulanoff Can We Stay Green How to Recycle Your Old PC FIRST LOOKS MacBook Air Laptop Our 16th Annual i MAGAZINE . . It s an element straight off the periodic table and it s raising the bar for performance and battery life in nextgeneration notebooks featuring hafnium-based Intel Centrino processor Hafnium to the Rescue As processors shrink wasted energy becomes a major problem. Wasted energy results in a less efficient system. And a highly efficient system is critical to a great mobile experience. But so is a small processor to fit into those stylish thin and light notebooks. Intel s innovative use of hafnium in its transistor design dramatically reduces wasted energy. And that means greener leaner and meaner processors. The Biggest Change in Transistor Technology in 40 Years This advance in transistor design enables Intel to create 45nm transistors. With roughly twice the density of prior 65nm technology. Intel s 45nm packs about double the number of transistors into the same silicon space. That s more than 400 million transistors for dual-core processors and it enables great performance leaps up to 50 percent larger L2 cache and new levels of breakthrough energy efficiency. Experience the Difference A notebook with the new hafnium-based 45nm Intel Centrino processor technology can change your expectations about mobile performance media-rich applications and battery Get more done Over 2x the performance when Handle Hi-Def Multimedia Intel HD .
