There are four allergens from shrimp that have been identified to be the common contributor to allergenicity including tropomyosin TM arginine kinase AK sarcoplasmic calcium- binding protein SCP and myosin light chain MLC . In addition cross-reactivity among and between shrimp and crustaceans house dust mite cockroach was reported the most common cross-reactive allergen is tropomyosin. The purpose of this study is to investigate the response of specific IgE profile to shrimp protein and evaluate cross-reactivity between some shrimp protein and house dust mite cockroach proteins. Methods White leg shrimps and black tiger shrimps were used to extract protein from them. Proteins were separated by the LDS-PAGE technique and then run Immunoblotting with serum of the patient who have history allergy as well as positive skin prick test to shrimp crab house dust mite and or cockroach. Results Most of specific IgE responsed to proteins at molecular weights of 21 kDa 45 kDa and 116 kDa mainly shrimp samples were treated by high temperature processing. In patients allergic to house dust mites and or cockroaches and without or with low shrimp- specific IgE concentration occured cross-reactivity with these proteins and the most clearly was protein of 36 kDa that corresponding to weight molecule of shrimp tropomyosin.
