Introduction Dividend is considered as the portion of profits of a company which is distributable among its shareholders according to the decision taken and resolution passed in the meeting of Board of Directors. There is always a problem before the top management to decide how much profits should be transferred to reserve funds to meet any future contingencies and how much should be distributed to the equity shareholders as dividend.
