The meteorological station network is sparsely distributed. Therefore, the accuracy of the conventional interpolation based on the observation data from mete- orological stations still limited. In this case, using remote sensing data is one of the appropriate so- lutions to improve the accuracy. In this study, we use MODIS data to estimate Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) for the North and South Central Coast. The results show that the correlation coefficient between observations and estimations is high (R = ). It demonstrates that the PET estimated from MODIS image is reli- able and can be applied to other regions.
