This is the first paper on systematic research into Boletaceae . (excluding Boletus L.) in the Republic of Macedonia. Opat., Leccinum variicolor Watling, Leccinum vulpinum Watling, Phylloporus pelletieri (Lév.) Quél., Suillus mediterraneensis (Jacquet. & ) Redeuilh, Xerocomus ferrugineus (Schaeff.) The country borders Albania in the west, Greece in the south, Bulgaria in the east, and Serbia in the north (Figure). This relatively small area 2 (25,713 km ) is characterised by the most complex geology, diverse and developed relief, different climatic influences, and forest associations that contribute to its rich fungi diversity. The interest in mycodiversity studies in the Republic of Macedonia has been growing in recent years, and much has been done in this field. There has not been systematic research into Boletaceae to date, and there are rather few mycological papers concerned only with individual species of this family.
