Anahtar Sözcükler: Likenleflmifl mantarlar, biyoçeflitlilik, Türkiye Introduction The number of floristic studies on lichens in Turkey has increased rapidly in recent decades. However, there are still gaps in the knowledge of many provinces. There have been 6 papers referring to lichens in Isparta province (Szatala, 1960; Mayrhofer, 1984; Mayrhofer et al., 1990; Öztürk et al., 1998; Öztürk & Kaynak, 1999; Öztürk et al., 2005). In these papers, 99 lichen species are given from several regions of Isparta province. There is only one lichen record from Afyonkarahisar (Giralt et al., 1992). The present study aims to contribute to the first floristic records in these 2 provinces and to the lichen flora of Turkey. The study areas in both provinces (Isparta and Afyonkarahisar) are situated in the north-western Mediterranean region of Turkey. According to data from the Isparta meteorological station, the climate is generally Mediterranean with low values of humidity in the north. The average annual mean temperature is °C. The annual precipitation is about mm. The characteristic Mediterranean maquis elements are prevalent in the study area. Although Dinar is a city in Afyonkarahisar province, it is closer to Isparta
