In this instance I have 236 239 and 148 for RGB or 10 0 54 0 for CMYK. 2 Next we want to create a line that is found on notebook paper. Using RGB the numbers would be 23 54 135. Using CMYK the numbers would be 100 88 18 6. To start select the Line tool. Hold the Shift key down and create a full horizontal line across the page. Change over to the Paths palette. Make sure the blue we created is foreground color. Click on Stroke Path With Brush icon at the bottom of the palette. Hit Enter. 3 We now want to make the yellow paper and the blue line a pattern. To create the pattern so it will work make sure the spacing above and below the line match. You then want to make a pattern. You do that by selecting Define Pattern. Once you have got to this point go ahead and fill the 8 1 2 by 11 sheet with the pattern. As you have probably noticed there is no space at the top for the header area of the paper. Select 2 or 3 lines and fill with yellow. You should now have something comparable to yellow notebook paper. 4 On a separate layer fill a circle with yellow. Open Render and select Lighting Effects. Follow the screen below to create a notebook hole. 5 The paper should look like the one below. Go ahead and group all the layers together - Control G. Click on the Create a New Set and drop all of the paper layers into it. Name the new set Paper. 6 We then want to find a handwritten font to use for our notepad. I found the one I m using on the web. I first made sure my antivirus was up-to-date before downloading the font. 7 On a new layer create a rectangle shape and fill it under Paths with a pencil color. Lock the layer and select part of the pencil vertically leaving the center part alone. Choose a darker color for shadow and fill under the Paths palette. Do the same thing on the other side with a lighter variation of color. 8
