Click the Create New Theme Colors link at the bottom of this list which will display the Create New Theme Colors dialog box shown in Figure 11 -4. Figure 11 -4. The Create New Theme Colors dialog box 293 CHAPTER 11 BRANDING WITH THEMES AND STYLES Note A color scheme is simply a collection of twelve colors. There are two pairs of background foreground colors. Normally you will use the light foreground with the dark background and vice versa. This allows you to visually toggle between selected items and non-selected items. There are also six accent colors and two hyperlink colors. Tip In my opinion the names given to the first four colors are difficult to follow. The first two are the primary foreground and background colors. The next two are the alternate foreground and background colors. When you need to select a color from either the Property Sheet or the color picker different names are used. Fortunately those names actually make sense Text 1 Background 1 Text 2 Background 2 . Also note that the preview picture is wrong and doesn t display the colors correctly. Just ignore this. 3. The first two colors are just standard black and white and you can leave this as it is. The fourth color which is called Text Background - Light 2 should be changed. Click the dropdown icon next to it which will reveal the standard color picker shown in Figure 11-5.
