The present study was undertaken to assess the damage caused by heavy metals, arsenic and chromium in slaughtered buffaloes. The assessment of adverse effects of these heavy metals in tissues (Liver, kidney, pancreas, and ovary) and blood have been determined by the expression of metallothionein, antioxidants and biochemical parameters. Tissue and blood samples were collected from buffaloes (n=50) from local abattoir to assess the level of arsenic and chromium. |
