Studies were undertaken to elicit information on performance of Bambusa balcooa and Bambusa vulgaris across five agro climatic regions as well as different age gradations, association among the biometric attributes. Bambusa balcooa proved its significant phenotypic superiority in terms of all the biometric attributes studied. The performance of Bambusa balcooa across the agro climatic regions viz., North Eastern Zone, Northern Zone, Western Zone, Cauvery Delta Zone and Southern Zone was also consistent and higher than the Bambusa vulgaris and Bambusa bambos. | Growth performance of thorn less bamboos Bambusa balcooa Roxb. and bambusa vulgaris schrader ex J.
